Partial intelligence has been dominating every single conversation I've been having. From Apple's new Apple intelligence, to the new investment amounts in AI this year, I think I cannot escape the topic. I mean, for good reason too. Right now, US investments are at $196 billion in 2023, but that's expected to grow year over year until we hit the trillions of dollars. One project in particular has been building very heavily to support AI advances, and that is Polkadot. Polkadot's not just building on one layer, in fact, because Polkadot is the hub of many layers, and it's just how they're designed. They're very, very suited for AI growth right now. And it's actually a very good time to look at Polkadot and what they're doing with AI at this current moment. Because as they develop heavily, they provide the fuel and the development resources to push for the next big run up. And I do see AI and crypto being one of them. I also answer a lot of skepticism too, because yes, I know there's a habit of people combining these big words together. I'll tell you guys why it is actually critical for this to go forward. So make sure you stay till the end of video to get the full picture of everything. Before we start, guys, obviously everything here is my personal opinion, not financial advice. And I do also want to thank the Polkadot Foundation for making this video possible as well. Let's get started. So let's get the elephant out of the room. Why does AI even need blockchain? Well, there are actually three key major reasons why AI needs blockchain. But let me explain to you the primary reason, and then you'll see the other reasons fall into place. Reason number one, and that's privacy. Privacy. So privacy is actually starting to become a big issue. So recently, Apple announced their deep integration of AI into all their core products and their phones. And Elon Musk, when he saw that, he was like, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Apple, don't do that. If you do that, I'm going to ban all Apple devices from Tesla and any of his company, right? Put them in an electromagnetic case where they belong, is Elon Musk's argument. And I will say here that he's kind of right. The problem with AI is that it's forever learning. Even when it's answering questions or doing its tasks, it's constantly learning from your inputs and your outputs and improving itself. The problem with that is that if it's learning, it's also knowing what you're doing and it poses a huge privacy risk. This can actually be solved by blockchain because secure compute is on the front lines of what everyone is wanting right now. This is the ability to run computation without even knowing what's inside. That's actually mind boggling. So, yes, I actually do see one day that Elon Musk doesn't have to worry about this anymore. He does. He can abandon all his electromagnetic cages because private compute is on its way. And that's coming with blockchain. So the second reason why AI needs blockchain is to verify information and factual accuracy. So right now at its current point, AI has a problem where it's a little bit confused some of the time. It kind of makes stuff up. And the problem here is that we don't know if it's the data that's at fault or the AI that's at fault. But one thing that we do know for sure is that we need to verify information and data and if this is truthful or not. There's various books written about that. But the fundamental ability of blockchain is to be able to provide decentralized truth. That's what Bitcoin is used for. It's a truth machine for where funds are going. Now, this is not just for the personal level too, but for businesses. Big businesses need to trust each other too. And this is where public blockchains become very powerful. So public blockchains means that everyone can participate, add on to it. But at the same time, there's no one person that controls all that information. This is perfect for AI because if AI is going to get access to information and you want people to share that information, the only real way that we can get all these big corporations to work together, whether it's Facebook working with Amazon, Amazon working with Apple, there's so much distrust between these big corporations that there needs to be a universal language. And that universal language is blockchain because everyone can participate at an equal level. And that kind of fairness gives room for everyone to participate. So I see like that is where blockchain becomes the main communication layer for AI. And that's where also Polkadot has a huge amount of advantage as well. Because of the way Polkadot is designed with Polkadot itself being the layer zero and then everything else chains on top, I can envision a lot of different companies maybe making their own chains, but then using Polkadot to communicate between these chains when it comes to AI and AI services. So right now, instead of that whole distrust between these big companies, we can probably finally see them working together to provide a full service that everyone needs. So yes, hey Siri, please go order my nutrient supplements for tomorrow. That could work and that could work with Amazon. And the last reason why AI is made more powerful by blockchain is because of resource sharing. Blockchain really allows simple payments between platforms. We already know that already where you can tokenize everything, including time on GPUs. So I actually foresee a huge platform that can come and take over existing services like AWS, but make it more geared towards AI and make that sharing a lot more decentralized. Okay, now that I convinced you guys that AI needs blockchain, what's happening on Polkadot's side that is pushing AI technology forward? First, as forefront, is Origin Trail. So right now, AI is kind of like a black box. You ask AI, we really don't know what's happening. Origin Trail provides two things. One is to provide information for ADAI. Second is to provide traceability to trace, you know, how it came about with all that information. The core behind Origin Trail is the decentralized knowledge graph, the EKG, if you want to call it. So this is basically a data that the AI is trained upon. It's a large language model. It provides this fundamental critical knowledge asset that the AIs need. But what really distinguishes Origin Trail from any other project is the tracking. How this information is accessed and how it can be shared. The key here is really to kind of fix the issues with hallucination that's happening in the AI space. And just fundamentally make these AIs much more accurate and much easier to trace if there is wrong information, where that information came from, and how the AI came upon that. So I almost see this as a support tool for AI. This, in conjunction with whatever is happening, whether it's OpenAI, Apple Intelligence, or Google's Palm, it doesn't matter. But if they use this, we'll know exactly where that information is coming from. And this is already a project that's being built using Polkadot. Now that Origin Trail is running, they actually have projects that are already starting to use and trying to test this out. So if you actually want to try it out, there's actually a chatdkg.ai, which is actually using Origin Trail and trying to tap into that. Well, I want to just let you remember that this is a foundational architecture. So you actually need to wait for more apps to develop on top of that for us to see the actual physical products. I think this is one of the first ones that you'll see. But I feel like this is a situation where the tech is a very foundational product that you have to really wait for it to be built out. And then you'll see the true power of it. The next major powerhouse for blockchain AI on Polkadot is Fala Network. So this one is actually quite powerful in the sense that it allows anyone to contribute their power. We know that AI is power hungry. We know it needs both CPU and GPUs. And right now, they already have 34,000 online workers that are decentralized to help anyone build applications. So say, for example, Rweave needs to connect to Twitter or Binance or needs to do these type of connections. Well, Fala Network can actually do the work for them and directly help all these AI applications integrate with each other. So it's kind of like the hub of integration. Fala actually started as a very, very small proof of concept all the way in 2019. They've come very far to become a huge community. Why? It's because there's a need for this, right? It's almost like how all that cloud computing grew. It's because all of a sudden, every company realized, oh, shit, we actually need this. And this is exactly what's happening. A lot of new AI startups need services like this. They need cheaper access to compute power. They need different types of compute power, different types of kind of processing, co-processing. And which is why Fala is positioned itself at a perfect kind of like a service provider, but with decentralization as core, with cheap transaction functionality. And of course, because it's on its own separate chain using Polkadot, it actually gives a great amount of power without congestion from any other network. So yet again, the transparency of sharing, but using blockchain technology for all this whole AI stuff. Why this is better than, say, traditional services like AWS is just because of how quickly it can scale. Because blockchain can just get anyone to participate and participate in that network, it means it can scale far faster than someone like AWS. Say, for example, Amazon, they have to buy expensive servers, put that somewhere, position that somewhere. It's a hard building task. But with a decentralized community, anyone can do that. Put the GPU power to work, shove that in. And because of just the privacy built-in elements here, people who use this don't have to worry about data leaking out, etc. They know and can trust the service, and then they can trust how fast it expands. So I definitely see that this is really rapidly becoming the sharing economy for GPU, CPU, compute power, or as they package it, the co-computational power for any AI project. Alright guys, so that's it. So I definitely see a huge amount of potential for blockchain to drastically accelerate AI growth. At the core, I know AI is going to fundamentally change how we see everything. And not just like everyday tasks, but also more bizarre topics. Like, can we use AI to understand whale language? I don't know, that was a recent video I watched. And I thought, oh, that's kind of cool, like, starting out through infinite amount of data and then using AI to just even identify where whales are and how they communicate and how they sync to each other. I don't know, maybe I'm on a tangent, but I do see just a huge fundamental change in how the world works and how we think with AI. Now, what I definitely want to emphasize in this video that is completely true is that AI has a great need for blockchain. By adding elements of security, verifiability, and transactions into AI, blockchain really can push AI technology forward. So, what do you guys think about that? Do you think that this is the case?
